Finding a Place or Getting Even? Two Outsider Manga
An outsider can try to find a place in a group—or decide the group deserves revenge. Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun and Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon begin with humans in hostile fantasy settings, but offer different reasons to keep reading. Choose between the comedy of hiding who you are and the satisfaction of turning betrayal into overwhelming power. Iruma-kun: finding a place while hiding the truth
In Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, Iruma Suzuki's parents sell him to a demon, leaving the human boy attending school in the Netherworld. His new demon grandfather offers affection and support, but Iruma still has to participate in school life without revealing what he is. Classmate rivalries and summoning familiars make keeping a low profile a complicated ambition.
Try this one if you enjoy school comedy where ordinary social anxiety has a supernatural cause. Introducing yourself and dealing with classmates become more interesting when your identity must stay hidden. The supportive grandfather also gives the premise an affectionate counterweight to its alarming opening.
Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon: leaving acceptance behind
Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon turns exclusion into a revenge fantasy. Light is the only human in his adventuring party, in a world where humans are the weakest race. After his comrades abandon him deep in a dungeon, his Infinite Gacha ability produces level-9999 allies. The people who treated him as disposable have given him a reason to return with overwhelming power.
That reversal is the reason to choose it: the appeal lies in watching the balance of power swing toward the betrayed character. Its fantasy-and-harem premise also makes the new allies central to the attraction. Where Iruma's secret makes joining in complicated, Light's betrayal gives him a target. Start here when you want the outsider to settle accounts with the group that discarded him, rather than win a place among them.
